Juice Jam

Around 2019-2020, I co-created Juice Jam with friends — a monthly concert series in Provo, Utah that slowly grew to peak at about 200-250 people showing up at our busiest shows.

We used a short wood stage built as a subfloor inside a two car garage, with a full stack PA system, stage stake, and rugs all over the floors walls.

The Juice Jam mascot was a crying tooth.

Usually we’d pair 2-4 bands for an evening, create cool posters, paste them all around the local area and promote the show online and in person. We charged $5 for entry.

I mostly did the live sound myself, and relied on trusted friends to handle tickets and helping with stage.

We paid overhead, paid the bands, and often walked away with a chunk of change for everyone who helped too.

This experience was so positive and foundational for me I can’t not dedicate a page to my Juice Jam experience. I learned a lot about music, planning, experiences, gathering, live sound, pairing communities, and so much more. I learned how possible it is to simply create the exact kinds of opportunities you desire to find for yourself.

Thank you to anyone who contributed to Juice Jam while it was goin. I loved the whole thing. Blown out PA speakers and all. The adjacent experiences that it created were also dear to me — I love you Spoonfest. Forkfest, may you feel properly burned.

That said, I’m hungry for more. Please reach out if you are interested in co-creating or organizing multi-disciplinary, community-centric, creative events.
