Paying Attention

You’ve got to find what you love, to feel right about your life.

When you’re made outta love, only love will do.

Food. Colors. Relationships. Beverages. Pants. Guitars. Art. Language. Books. Work. Pets. Seasons. Philosophy. Movies. Undies. Routines.

Plenty of great work is done by love-starved people. You don’t have to love it to do great work… but your chances will be higher if you water that plant inside your heart.

It takes certain resources to grow a flower. I’ve gotten lucky to grow so many flowers so accidentally, and I’m seeing now how to increase my chances. I love flowers. My camera reel is mostly flowers from all over town.

You gotta feel love to handle feeling the rest of what goes down in life. Follow that love inside till you find your watering hole(s).

Like all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. Keep looking, don’t settle.

Remember you’re going to die. You’re already on the schedule to lose it all at the end anyway. You’re not walking out of here alive. No one escapes death. Death clears out the old to make room for the new. For awhile you will be new, but soon enough you will be cleared away to make room for new people. You can shy away from this basic truth, or you can accept it and find what awaits you while you’re still here.

So don’t waste the life you have now trying to live anyone else’s, or worrying if you’re missing something. You will always be missing something. You will be a beginner till the end. That’s the whole point. Don’t let others’ opinions drown out your inner voice.. Other people’s opinions are by default secondary to whatever seed of life the patterns of god planted in your chest.

So pay attention to detail. There are bread crumbs, clues, and even neon signs hidden in plain sight. The opening happens not just with the eyelids, but with the heart. If someone has hurt you, the heart opening will be both harder, scarier, and more necessary.
